Many thanks to an experienced female world traveler, Katrina, to give me a hint of what is in her saddlebag. Shirts, socks and the like. Unfortunately, I made the choice to pack a taller windshield for the new-to-me motorcycle in my checked luggage. I didn’t realize the size of the windscreen, so I had to change check bags to something a little larger. Thank you, Colin, I’m using your army duffle bag. It will hold all my riding gear and spare tools, tire plugs, disc lock and seat cushion. The duffel will then fold up nicely and fit in a saddlebag for the trip and be stuffed full on the way home with goodies that I don’t ship back to myself.
Here’s a cute story about my first planned trip to Australia back in 2017. Colin was on his way to Texas, for some military training when I posted a picture on the book of faces. It was me in a new snorkeling mask! That started up a conversation about why I bought it and where I got the nickname, Unicorn! I invited him to come to Australia with me. My friend had recently canceled her participation in this trip, so I was looking for someone to go with me if they wanted. Unfortunately, I don’t have a lot of motorcycle friends, so I was looking for anyone to go with me. He was startled at my invitation. I was like, sure! Come on! The more the merrier! If I had known him better then, I would have known his cheeks were burning red! Keeping the story short, he ended up moving to Texas to be my husband and Australia got pushed to the back burner.
The burner is now turned on, lit, and burning hot!
